Attacks target every
reachable weak point.
Most attacks are automated and look for open networks. This guide explains the basics of network security: firewall, segmentation, VPN, Wi-Fi and backup. Delivery: cybersecurity service.
A flat network
is an open network.
In many environments that have grown over the years, every device can reach every other one. A single infected machine is then enough to reach every system in the organisation.
Segmentation
Administration, production, guests and third-party devices belong in separated zones with controlled transitions, not in one shared network.
Identity as access control
Access today depends on user accounts, not on physical ports. Multi-factor authentication and conditional access work where attacks actually start.
The way in is usually email
Endpoint and email protection belong together, as does the question of who may click what and what happens next.
A backup counts only once tested
A backup whose recovery has never been rehearsed is an assumption. We test the return, not just the copy.
From access
to recovery.
Assessment
The IT security infrastructure check looks at identity, endpoints, email, network and backup in your environment and delivers prioritised measures.
Firewall and rule set
A Juniper SRX firewall from HPE Juniper Networking (formerly Juniper Networks) as the boundary to the outside, a traceable rule set instead of exceptions that have piled up, and logging that can be evaluated in an emergency.
Segmentation
Separated network zones for administration, production, guests and third-party devices, with Juniper EX switches and controlled transitions.
Secure remote access
VPN for home office, field work and site-to-site links, with strong sign-in and clearly named accounts for external parties.
Identity and endpoints
Entra ID, multi-factor authentication, conditional access, endpoint and email protection, matched to your licences.
Backup and recovery
Backups with separated retention and a rehearsed recovery, so that in an emergency it is clear how long it takes.
See first,
then invest.
The IT security infrastructure check is the usual entry point. Scope and process are agreed after a short initial conversation, and the result is a report with prioritised measures.
Request the security check- Access
- Read access to the environment, agreed and limited in time
- Contact
- One person on your side who knows the environment
- Scope
- Identity, endpoints, email, network, backup
- Result
- Report with findings and prioritised measures
- After that
- Implementation and ongoing operations on request
