Mobile digital dictation with iPhone and Android

With a dictation app for iPhone, iPad, Android or BlackBerry, users dictate reports and expert opinions on the move and send them directly from the smartphone. For organisations handling sensitive data, the decisive question is where the speech recognition takes place.

Advantages over the dictation device

The app costs less than common digital dictation devices and is simply installed on the smartphone. There is no need for additional PC software, which conventional dictation devices usually require to transfer dictations. Dictations are sent directly from the smartphone. Dictating instead of typing speeds up workflows and allows corrections to be delegated.

Recognition on the internet as an obstacle

Many apps do not perform speech recognition on the smartphone itself but on a server on the internet. This requires a permanent internet connection, and the text is recognised on third-party servers. For hospitals, ministries and organisations with sensitive data this is unusable for data protection reasons.

ProDictate Mobile with a server in the corporate network

ProDictate Mobile converts dictations on a speech recognition server located in the corporate network. The user creates the dictation and taps send. It reaches the corporate network via a secure VPN connection, for example through the MDM solutions BlackBerry Dynamics or MobileIron.

There the server recognises the text and, depending on the workflow, returns it to the user’s device or forwards it to another recipient. Through the integration of app, MDM solution and speech recognition in the background, organisations with sensitive data can also dictate on the move.
