How Juniper Mist AI works and how it helps in everyday operations
Mist AI is the AI platform in Juniper networking products. How it analyses network data in real time, resolves faults and simplifies WLAN and LAN.
Editorial note: Juniper Networks is now part of Hewlett Packard Enterprise and operates as HPE Juniper Networking. The product names Juniper SRX, EX and Mist remain unchanged; the short form is used in the text.
Mist AI is the AI platform in the networking products of HPE Juniper Networking. It analyses network data in real time, detects faults and in many cases resolves them automatically. This relieves IT teams in the operation of WLAN, LAN and WAN.
What Mist AI does
The platform uses machine learning and AI algorithms to resolve network problems faster and more effectively. Network behaviour is monitored in real time, and problems are detected and resolved automatically. This applies to wireless networks as well as to LAN and WAN.
Mist AI also helps manage network resources. It optimises the signal strength and range of wireless networks, for example. The platform detects threats such as unauthorised network access and initiates measures to mitigate or resolve them.
Operation
The user interface is designed so that staff without extensive IT knowledge can identify and resolve problems quickly.
Example: WLAN optimisation
The AI continuously analyses the WLAN and detects interference or congestion. It then adjusts the settings automatically to avoid outages. Staff have a reliable connection, and administrators save time on troubleshooting.
Proof of concept
DEVACON offers a proof of concept (POC). You test Mist AI in your own environment, assess its performance and effect in practice, and decide on that basis which solution suits your organisation.
Key points
- Mist AI monitors network behaviour in real time and resolves detected problems automatically.
- The platform optimises WLAN settings and detects unauthorised access.
- A proof of concept shows the effect in your own environment.
How DEVACON plans and operates networks with Juniper is described on the page Network and IT infrastructure.
